How to Permanently Deactivate A Facebook Account

Facebook has 2 methods to disable your account. One is reversible as well as the other is irreversible.

You can shut off an account and then later on reactivate it. While it's shut down, individuals can not see your timeline or search for you, though some details, such as messages you sent, might still show up.

If you erase your account, it's gone for life and can not be reactivated. Facebook says that they "delay removal a few days after it's asked for" and that a deletion demand is canceled if you log back into your account during that period. They better say that it can take up to 90 days to remove information stored in back-up systems.

How To Permanently Deactivate A Facebook Account

- > Click the down arrow at top left of any page.

- > Select Settings.

- > Click in the general tab in left column.

- > Select Manage Account.

- > Scroll down to Deactivate your account.

- > Click Decativate your account.

- > You are then called for to enter your password.

To completely shut your account.

You need to click here to inform Facebook of your intent to shut your account and afterwards pick Erase My Account.
